Introducing the agents and editors for PBParty 2023! We can’t wait for you to see them and hope the finalists and Illustration Showcase author/illustrators will receive even more requests than last year…which was an impressive 515!
Please read our PBParty contest announcement post and FAQ here.
Submission day is Wednesday March 1, 2023
Midnight to 8 PM EST
I’m so grateful for all the judges who donate their time to help make publishing dreams come true. Please thank Judge & Ninja Superstar Sylvia Chen (psst…check out her #PBStudyBuddy… plus her awesome PBParty tips on Twitter). And send gratitude to our incredible judges…

We can’t wait to read your entries!
We’re setting up ranking parties in the PBParty Participants Facebook group! Groups are filling up fast, so hop over and sign up for one ASAP. 2022 finalists said it was a huge help figuring out what to enter for PBParty. Many have continued to be critique and/or ranking buddies.
Stay up to date with PBParty events through my website and the
PBParty Participants Facebook group!
Stay tuned for my next post with a HUGE critique/Zoom/feedback giveaway for people who plan to participate in the 2023 PBParty contest. So far, we have 47 prizes!!! If you’re a past PBParty finalist, agented, or traditionally published and would like to donate a prize, that would be wonderful! Together, we can help dreams come true.
Note: Listed agents and editors have agreed to take part in the contest, but that doesn’t mean they’ll make requests or that life won’t happen and prevent them from appearing. Everyone will do their best.
Psst…several additional agents & editors said they’ll try to pop into PBParty. They aren’t listed below, but I’ll send them a link and hope they’ll hop over to make requests. Last year, lots of agents & editors who weren’t listed join the showcase. 🙂
Here are the amazing agents and editors. Please thank their kindness by following them on Twitter (it’s linked to their names).

Let us know your reaction to seeing all the incredible participating agents and editors! I’m hoping we’ll have even more yeses…I’ll add them as they come in and share on Twitter. I’ve been squealing and celebrating for each yes, and am thrilled to share them with you. 🙂
I can’t wait to share more entry tips and what some of the agents and editors say they’re hoping to find (and what’s a tough sell) to help you choose which manuscript to enter. I hope you’ll browse the PBParty Success Stories with helpful tips for you (most have a query that worked)!
Heads up: it’s clear bios and rhyming PBs are still extremely tough sells. If you’re deciding between a bio/rhyming PB and a different manuscript that’s about as strong–your chances will probably be higher with the other genre. But amazing, unique stories always shine through. 🙂
If you’d like fresh eyes on the manuscript you want to enter, I hope you’ll join us for the PBParty New Draft Challenge and Critique Train on February 16 – 18. With the contest coming up, you can see if your critiquer will take a peek at your query, too…so both your manuscript and query will be ready to dazzle.
*To receive new blog posts by e-mail, don’t forget to subscribe in the upper right of my website (if you’re on a phone, it might be near the bottom).
If you have questions about the PBParty contest or would like more info and tips about it from me, the judges and past finalists plus the chance to ask questions during a live Zoom…we’re planning one for February 10–either at 1 pm EST or 8 pm EST. We’ll record it to help as many people as possible. If you haven’t voted on the time in the PBParty Participant Facebook group, can you share the best time in the comments?
I’m sending lots of good revision vibes your way and can’t wait to see your entries on March 1st!
