I want to make sure I give each critique 1000%, so I’m closing to new clients on March 11. I’m not sure when I’ll open again…hopefully sometime in April. It all depends on how much time I have, and how many existing clients need feedback while I’m in the busiest parts of the PBParty contest.
Here’s a sparkly new service I’m excited to offer!

Zooming with writers and author/illustrators has been one of my favorite parts. I love brainstorming together and seeing those magical ‘aha’ moments click.
I’ve held off raising my prices, but will switch to slightly higher 2026 prices when I open again.

Here’s a bit more info:
- You’ll usually receive your critique back within a week (I’ll let you know if it might be longer).
- I share overall feedback, line suggestions…and also explain ways to make your manuscript stronger that you can incorporate into other picture books, too.
- I often include helpful resources to help take your manuscripts to the next level.
Raves from client e-mails that made me smile 🙂
Thank you so much! These are so thorough and the best critiques I have ever had!!! I can’t wait to dive into edits
Wow, oh wow! I feel so fortunate to have your fairy dust sprinkled all over my manuscript – it is gold!!
I continue to marvel at all of the GOLD fairy dust you sprinkled all over my manuscript and query letter! You are very thorough, clear in your explanations, and compassionate when giving constructive criticism. I am grateful, like one feels toward a surgeon who is empathic and skilled.
I received your critiques (with overall notes and line suggestions) and am so thankful for the feedback. It was very thoughtful and thorough –so much more than I ever expected. Now that I have a better direction on how to improve my manuscript, I’m ready to dive into edits. Thanks for all the help!
If you include a Zoom, you can use that time for whatever will help you most. I’m happy to…
- Answer questions
- Brainstorm
- Read your manuscript out loud & give suggestions afterward
- Chat about revision ideas and let you know which sounds the strongest
- Discuss potential agents or publishers
- Give feedback on your dummy (if you have one)
- And of course, add another magical sprinkle of fairy dust to help your publishing dreams come true
Here are my biggest critique strengths:
- Streamlining (it’s one of my superpowers)
- Brainstorming
- Strong beginnings and endings
- Re-readability
- Pacing
- Having enough unique art bait
- Tension
- Language that sings
*This is only for picture books in prose. I can critique rhyming manuscripts for content and let you know if anything looks off, but I can’t scan to make sure the meter is spot on. I’d be happy to suggest a rhyming pro if you need one.
Note: I won’t be able to vote on any manuscripts I’ve critiqued for the PBParty contest…but I always have enough judges so we’re covered if one or more of us can’t vote because we’ve critiqued the manuscript or are in a critique group with you.
I can’t wait to hear from you and hopefully work together. I’m sending tons of good writing, revision, and illustrating vibes your way along with a puff of magical fairy dust. ✨✨✨
