Thanks, Susie.
I can’t imagine it working though. I built my website on WordPress and for the Success Stories, have different blocks and they all smooshed together.
I have a couple ideas that might help. If not, I might need to reach out to a programmer. I want the entries to be as easy as possible for the agents and editors! Here’s how they looked when Michelle did them: https://michellehauckwrites.com/contest/picture-book-party-spring-2020/ Her programmer did an amazing job. I was thrilled that I figured out how to make the boxes with text appear in the post…but the only way I can get them to show up on a page listing so far is if the entire post shows.
Off to try a few more things. Wish me luck!!!!
Thanks, Sharalyn. This was just a test for me to see if the formatting is ready for me to input the finalists (once they’re chosen). I didn’t want to have to scramble around once the entries come in.
Yes–the query should be the typical length! It should be exactly what you’d send to an agent/editor minus the personalized opening (but you can still add a thank you for this contest, for participating, etc.) Two of the Success Stories I shared have their queries that worked. https://mindyalyseweiss.com/pbparty-success-stories/
And you can see a few of the entries from last year (many asked to be taken down, but a few are still up). https://michellehauckwrites.com/contest/picture-book-party-spring-2020/
Those are all the items that will be pulled from the form for the online final showcase…but the form itself asks for a few additional simple items, like your name and e-mail. You can see the full list in the first FAQ of the contest page: https://mindyalyseweiss.com/pbparty-annual-contest/
Note to everyone: This is all the info I’ll be pulling from the Google form for the online finalist entries in the agent/editor round…but the Google form will ask you for a few easy additional items like your name, e-mail, and Twitter handle. You can find the full list in the first FAQ on the contest page: https://mindyalyseweiss.com/pbparty-annual-contest/
The only entries that will be showcased on my website are the finalists, plus art for the Illustration Showcase.
